1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and CitizCoach (“CitizCoach,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) for the CitizCoach iOS app and related services at api.citizcoach.com (the “Service”).
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms are the Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) for CitizCoach for purposes of the Apple App Store.
Apple App Store EULA
By downloading or using CitizCoach from the Apple App Store, you also agree to Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. That EULA is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

If Apple’s standard EULA and these Terms conflict on a point Apple requires, Apple’s standard EULA controls for that point. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the license granted for the Licensed Application and may enforce it against you.
2. Unofficial educational tool — not a real interview
CitizCoach is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of State, or any other government agency.
Official naturalization information is available only from the U.S. government, including uscis.gov. Always rely on official USCIS instructions, your Notice of Interview, and qualified legal counsel for your case.
Civics questions, answers, and related study content in the Service are based on data available from official resource websites, including publicly published USCIS educational materials. Those official publications remain the authoritative source. CitizCoach’s compilation, sequencing, coaching, AI scoring, and explanations are a practice layer on top of that material — not a replacement for it.
We do not claim that the Service is 100% accurate, complete, or current. Content may be incomplete, outdated, paraphrased, or scored incorrectly. CitizCoach is a tool to help you practice and improve. That does not mean it is a source of truth. You must confirm all answers and immigration information against official USCIS publications and other government sources.
The in-app “interview” is an artificial-intelligence mock interview: a practice simulation that asks civics and English-style prompts and scores practice answers. It is not:
- a real naturalization interview;
- a video or phone call with USCIS;
- an appointment scheduler;
- a filing, biometrics, or case-status service;
- legal advice, a legal services plan, or representation before USCIS or EOIR.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your state) to use the Service. The Service is intended for adults preparing for U.S. naturalization study, not for children.
You represent that you will not use the Service for any unlawful purpose and that information you enter is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
4. Accounts
You may start with an anonymous account tied to your device install, and you may later link Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device secure.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, reverse engineer it, attempt to exceed quotas by fraud, or violate these Terms.
You may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the app from your device does not automatically delete server-side data or cancel an Apple subscription.
5. AI-enabled mock interviews
When you run a mock interview, you grant CitizCoach a license to process your voice audio, transcript, and answers as described in the Privacy Policy in order to operate the simulation and generate a practice report.
AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unlike a real officer’s questions, pacing, accent, or scoring. USCIS officers are human; they are not bound by our prompts, hints, or scores. You agree that you will not treat CitizCoach results as an official determination.
Free accounts may receive one lifetime 5-question mock-interview preview when entitlements are enabled. Premium (monthly subscription or 9-month unlock) unlocks the full mock interview and other paid features as described in the app at the time of purchase.
You agree not to use the mock interview to impersonate a government official, to deceive others that a session is a real USCIS interview, or to record and present CitizCoach audio as an official proceeding.
6. Subscriptions, one-time unlocks, and Apple billing
Some features (including additional AI mock interviews, voice practice, adaptive practice, and interview history) require a paid in-app purchase through the Apple App Store using your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. You can buy either the monthly subscription or the 9-month unlock; Premium is active if any unexpired purchase applies to your account.
Paid product titles (product identifiers must match App Store Connect):
- CitizCoach Premium Monthly (
app.citizcoach.ios.month9.99) — auto-renewable subscription. Renews every 1 month unless you cancel. - CitizCoach Premium 9-Month Unlock (
app.citizcoach.ios.unlock9m) — non-renewing subscription. Grants the same Premium features for 9 months from purchase. It does not auto-renew. After it expires you may repurchase it or subscribe monthly.
Price: displayed in the App Store listing and the in-app purchase sheet for your Apple ID storefront. Prices may vary by country and are set in App Store Connect.
Auto-renewal (monthly only): the monthly subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current price. The 9-month unlock does not renew and is not billed again unless you buy it again.
How to cancel: for the monthly subscription, open iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or manage subscriptions in the App Store. Canceling stops the next renewal; you generally keep access until the period you already paid for ends. The 9-month unlock cannot be cancelled mid-term because it is not an auto-renewing subscription; access lasts until the 9-month period ends unless Apple issues a refund.
Refunds: refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s refund policies, not by CitizCoach directly. Deleting the app or your CitizCoach account does not cancel a monthly subscription or refund a 9-month unlock.
If a free trial is offered on the monthly subscription, unused trial time is forfeited when you purchase a subscription where required by Apple’s rules. We will disclose trial length in the app and App Store metadata before you start.
This section is provided to satisfy Apple App Store Review Guideline 3.1.2 (auto-renewable subscriptions), including a functional public Terms of Use and Privacy Policy URL.
7. License and acceptable use
We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the iOS app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store usage rules.
You may not: copy, modify, or distribute the app except as allowed by law; scrape or bulk-export content beyond ordinary personal study; interfere with servers or other users; attempt to bypass payment or quota controls; or use the Service to generate malware, spam, or unlawful content.
8. Content and intellectual property
The CitizCoach name, app, software, study plans, mock-interview flow, and original explanations are owned by CitizCoach or its licensors.
Civics questions and answers used for study are based on publicly available U.S. government educational materials from official resource websites. Those materials remain subject to their official terms and remain the source of truth. CitizCoach’s selection, sequencing, coaching, audio simulation, and reports are our original compilation and presentation and are not official USCIS publications. We do not claim that our presentation is 100% accurate or complete.
If you submit feedback, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use it to improve the Service without obligation to you.
9. Third-party services
The Service depends on Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit) and infrastructure and AI processors. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services. We are not responsible for outages or changes by those providers.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY U.S. LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that mock-interview questions match your real interview, that scores are accurate, that AI audio or transcripts are error-free, or that using CitizCoach will result in passing the civics test, English test, or naturalization interview.
We do not warrant that study questions, answers, explanations, or readiness scores are 100% correct, complete, or up to date. The Service is a practice aid, not a source of truth. Official USCIS materials control.
Immigration outcomes depend on USCIS, your eligibility, your application, and the actual interview — none of which CitizCoach controls.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CITIZCOACH AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR IMMIGRATION OR LEGAL OUTCOMES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO APPLE FOR CITIZCOACH PREMIUM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $25.
Some states (including New Jersey) do not allow certain limitations; in those states our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for willful misconduct or fraud.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify CitizCoach against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your representation to anyone that a CitizCoach mock interview was a real government interview.
13. Governing law; disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that the federal FAA governs arbitration if the parties later agree in writing to arbitrate a specific dispute.
You and CitizCoach agree to try to resolve disputes informally by emailing support@citizcoach.com first. If not resolved within 30 days, either party may bring an individual action in state or federal courts located in California, except that you may bring an eligible claim in small-claims court in your county of residence. We do not require you to waive a jury trial except as a court may order under applicable law.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable protections of your state of residence.
14. Changes and termination
We may modify the Service or these Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date at this URL. If you continue using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law. We may terminate access if you violate these Terms. Sections that by nature should survive (including disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law) survive termination.
15. Miscellaneous
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and CitizCoach for the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization or sale. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they relate to your use of the Licensed Application, and Apple may enforce them against you.
